Jungle Crocodile Safari & Bird Watching Tour gives you the opportunity to see more than 50 bird species along the extensive Tarcoles River. This river originates out of the fusion of Virilla and Grande rivers at the slopes of the Central Volcanic Cordillera. It flows south-west, passes by Carara Biological Reserve, drifts into the Guacalillo Mangrove Estuary and eventually empties in the Gulf of Nicoya in the Pacific Ocean.

The different habitats give shelter to a variety of species such as american crocodiles, iguanas, basilisks, but most important, makes a wonderful environment for coastal, terrestrial, wetland, migratory and resident birds.


The tour has been designed for bird watchers groups, naturalists and students, as well as for tourists and visitors from all over the world. It lasts around 2 hours where guests will have the opportunity to explore a unique tourist destination and observe birds, american crocodiles and other species in their natural environment on board of our safe and comfortable pontoon boats.
